Meade ETX-70 with Auto Star Controller

Here's a chance to pick up an excellent telescope for starter scope. The optical quality of the ETX-70 is excellent. This would make an ideal telescope to get a child started with a quality instrument. I'm including a 25mm Plossl Eyepiece, the tripod and the autostar controller.

The motors work---though I recommend running this telescope from an external power pack (like Orion's Power Tank) rather than AA batteries. This telescope will track objects if you use the drives and it is also fully goto. However, you can use the telescope without the controller or batteries as it is very to aim. This will sell fast as these telescopes are highly sought after.

I do not have the lens cap but will attest the lens to be in perfect condition as I have always kept it covered.

Custom Made, Hand Selected 125mm Mak-Cass WITH Solar Filter and Orion Alt/Az Versa-Go Mount ($319 mount)

This telescope has incredible optics and is built like a tank. It's all metal and very solid. It has a buttery smooth, super fine focuser. I'm including the tube rings which are nearly impossible to find at this size and the dovetail bar. A 35mm Celestron Ultima eyepiece is also included. I purchased the 2" diagonal just for this telescope and it too is included. I will include a dew shield too.

You cannot get optics of this quality for less than $600---this particular instrument was hand selected for me, optically tested and passed by me and used exclusively by me. With the included solar filter, views of the sun will stun you. It's very hard for me to let go of this very fine instrument.
